As a third-generation builder, every project reflects his family's legacy and the high standards they have carried through decades of work. He built DeLauter not just as a construction company, but as a business where relationships come first, quality is non-negotiable, and promises are always kept. Whether in the office or on the job site, Stephen leads with humility, consistency, and a clear commitment to doing what’s right.
What began in a small home office with the support of his wife, Heidi, has grown into a nationally operating firm with two divisions, more than 35 team members, and a powerful family legacy. Stephen now leads the company alongside his son, Stephen Jr., continuing the vision and values that shaped DeLauter from the beginning. As a family-owned business, DeLauter stands for long-term thinking, genuine relationships, and building structures and partnerships that stand the test of time.

With over 25 years of construction experience and more than 350 completed projects under his leadership, Stephen Tarzian is the force behind DeLauter’s continued growth and reputation. As founder and President, he leads with intention. He builds partnerships rooted in trust, transparency, and smart execution. From the earliest planning meetings to project delivery, Stephen stays engaged every step of the way.
Construction and design run deep in Stephen’s family, he represents the third generation to carry the torch. After earning a degree in Marketing with the goal of contributing to his family’s business, Stephen joined his father’s commercial construction company, gaining critical experience in leadership and project delivery. When his father retired, Stephen launched DeLauter from a home office with a clear vision: elevate expectations at every level. Today, that vision has scaled into two divisions, national reach, and a team of 35+ employees, including his son, Stephen Jr., who proudly represents the next generation.
